Gr 2-4-Each volume of this visually appealing series is presented with well-reproduced, captioned photos, text, and fact boxes. The font is on the large side, and students will find the writing style accessible. The books place the subjects' lives in the historical period of their time (George Washington Carver, for example, discusses the inventor within the context of slavery and racism). However, because all of these subjects are commonly found in other series, these titles aren't must-haves. Solid, but not exceptional.
